Alf Smiddy newly appointed Chairman of Riverview Eggs Cork businessman and entrepreneur Alf Smiddy has recently been appointed as Chairman of The Kelleher family-owned Riverview Eggs. Riverview eggs first cracked into the industry in 1966. Starting off with 700 hens in a barn at the home farm in Whites Cross, on the outskirts of Cork city Riverview has steadily grown to meet demand and is now is the largest producer/packer in the Munster area, stocking stores almost nationwide. Riverview eggs now supplies some of the chief supermarket groups in Ireland including: SuperValu, Centra, Dunnes Stores, Tesco Ireland as well as Spar, Londis, MACE, and CostCutters.
Alf also holds positions on the boards of Kilkenny Group, Ed4Life, The Chris Mee Group (CMSE and Carbon Action), Quintas Group, Eolas International Research Ltd, Kedco Plc, Granite Consulting and The Moran & Bewleys Hotel Group amongst others and he is also Managing Director and Owner of Alf Smiddy & Company Ltd. Before this he was Chairman and Managing Director of Beamish & Crawford Plc for over 20 years, Director at Cork Chamber of Commerce and Non-Executive Director at Cork Airport Authority.
